Tim Teefy Hired as Temple’s Head Olympic Strength & Conditioning Coach

PHILADELPHIATim Teefy has been hired as the Head Olympic Strength & Conditioning Coach for Temple Athletics, as announced by Senior Associate Director of Athletics Joe Giunta. Teefy comes to Temple from Villanova where he has spent the past three years as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Wildcats.

"We are excited to welcome Tim to the Temple Athletics team," said Giunta. "He has tremendous enthusiasm for mentoring student-athletes both physically and mentally, and the knowledge and experience he brings will certainly enhance the Temple Olympic Strength and Conditioning program. Temple Athletics has been positioning itself to become a major player nationally as well as in the American Athletic Conference since joining in 2012, and Tim's hire further demonstrates that commitment to our coaches, student-athletes and fans."

While at Villanova, Teefy was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the strength and conditioning department for 19 Division I varsity teams, working specifically with men's and women's lacrosse, baseball, field hockey and men's and women's soccer. For three years prior to arriving at Villanova, Teefy held a similar position as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at High Point University in North Carolina.

Teefy has also spent time on the strength staffs at George Mason University and Georgetown University, and was an adjunct faculty member while at George Mason.

He earned his bachelor's degree in physical education/sports management from West Virginia University in 1999 and earned his master's in kinesiology/exercise physiology from West Chester University in 2008. Teefy is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach and a Certified Personal Trainer.
