Men's Basketball Looks To Continue Hot Streak Saturday Against Tulsa
1.9.15 | Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA - Unbeaten at home and riding a six-game win streak, the Temple men's basketball team returns to the Liacouras Center Saturday for a date with another hot team, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, for a 3:00 p.m. tilt. Â The game will be televised nationally on ESPNews and broadcast on 1210 AM WPHT.
Fresh off a win at Tulane, the Owls (12-4, 3-0 American) look to remain alone atop the conference standings. Â A trio of guards lead head coach Fran Dunphy's squad as senior Will Cummings (14.2 ppg.), junior Quenton DeCosey (14.1 ppg.) and senior Jesse Morgan (14.0 ppg.) are separated by a mere two-tenths of a point for team scoring honors.
Junior Jaylen Bond (8.1 ppg., 8.2 rpg.) posted his third double-double of the season at Tulane and leads the conference in rebounding. Â Freshman Obi Enechionyia (4.0 ppg., 3.7 rpg.), who has started the last two games, rounds out the starters.
Temple is undefeated at the Liacouras Center this season with a record of 7-0.
Tulsa (9-5, 2-0) comes into Saturday's game with a four-game win streak, including conference wins over UCF (56-54) and Houston (72-54). Junior guard Shaquille Harrison leads the Golden Hurricane in both scoring (15.1 ppg) and assists (3.5 apg).
Harrison and fellow junior guard James Woodard (14.9 ppg) rank fourth and fifth in the league in scoring average.
Tulsa has won both previous meetings between the teams, the last coming 18 years ago.
