Matthews, Mason Shoot Under Par Rounds on Day Two of Q School

PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior All-American Brandon Matthews and Andrew Mason, a 2011 graduate and all-conference performer, both had sub-par rounds on day two of the PGA Tour's Q-School this week.
Matthews, who is playing at the Callaway Gardens-Mountain View Golf Course in Pine Mountain Ga., shot a two-under 70 par for his second round. The only amateur in the field, the DuPont, Pa. native is tied for 37th among the 77 competitors with a two-under 142.
Mason, who has played on the PGA Tour LatinoAmerica, also shot a two-under 70 while playing the ArborLinks in Nebraska City, Neb. He is tied for fifth with a eight-under 136.
The 24 players with lowest scores at each site, and players tied for the last position, will advance to the next stage of qualifying.
