BROOKVILLE, Fla. - Senior All-American Brandon Matthews shot a one-under 287 over the four-day second stage of the PGA Tour Q-School to tie for 56th overall among the 74 competitors. The tournament was held from November 10-13 at the Southern Hills Plantation Club.
Matthews, one of two amateurs competing at the site, failed to qualify for the final stage as only the top 21 golfers (and those tied at the final spot) advanced.
The Dupont, Pa. native shot a three-over 75 on the opening day, but rebounded with a two-under 70. His third round was also over-par (74) before closing Friday with his best
round of the stage, a four-under 68.
Temple alum Andrew Mason ('11) will compete for a spot in the final from November 17-20 at the Plantation Reserve Golf Course & Club in Plantation, Fla.
