Fitzgerald Repeats as Big 5 Player of the Week, American Honor Roll Selection

PHILADELPHIA -- For the second week in a row, Temple women's basketball player Feyonda Fitzgerald has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week, and also appears on the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll. 

Fitzgerald averaged 23.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in a 1-1 week for the Owls. Against Big 5-rival La Salle, she recorded her first career double-double and was two rebounds shy of a triple-double, connecting for 19 points, 10 assists, and eight boards. In a loss to Rutgers, who is receiving votes in the national poll, Fitzgerald tallied 27 points with nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. With her stat line against Rutgers, she became the first Temple player since 2011 to lead the team in points, rebounds, and assists. For the week, Fitzgerald shot 41.5% and recorded just four total turnovers. 

Temple (2-1) is back in action on Tuesday, facing Quinnipiac on the road at 5:00 p.m.
