Asci Named to American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple sophomore Irem Asci earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending November 22.
Asci led Temple to three wins in three matches, recording 4.83 kills and 3.17 digs per set. Against UConn, the outside racked up 17 kills and added eight digs and two aces, as Temple won, 3-1. Against Tulsa, Asci again had 17 kills, this time, hitting .270 with nine digs. Wrapping up the week, she hammered 24 kills and added 21 digs to notch a double-double as Temple upset conference champion, SMU, 3-2. In that match, she accounted for over a set's worth (26.5) of points, to lead all players. For the week, Asci averaged 19.3 kills and 12.7 digs per match in the Owl victories.
Temple (23-8, 14-5 American) will head to East Carolina on Friday for the regular season finale. The Owls and Pirates will play at 5:00 p.m.
