11.24.15 | Football, Kyle Friend - All-American Candidate
As the center for the Temple Owls, Kyle Friend has become the keystone of one of college football's best offensive lines. The Owls have rushed for 153.8 yards per game, up from 107.8 a year ago. The team has 20 rushing touchdowns so far, eight more than their total last season. Jahad Thomas has stepped into the lead back role and has four 100-yard games this season. The unit's sack average is down and their improved blocking has given quarterback P.J. Walker better windows to throw. Walker's interceptions are down significantly. Friend has been the stalwart on the offensive line, starting 41 straight games, the longest streak on the team. Friend suffered an injury vs. Notre Dame and has missed the past three games.
