Temple Tennis Gives Back To Community

3.18.15 | Men's Tennis, Outreach

PHILADELPHIA – Throughout the years, the Temple tennis teams have continuously served the city of Philadelphia through their community service work.

This past weekend, the men's tennis team and head coach Steve Mauro volunteered at the Sunday Morning Breakfast Mission, serving meals to those in need. This is the third year that the teams have participated in community service at the Rescue Mission.

"Our teams feel privileged to be able to give back to the community and those who are less fortunate than us," said head coach Steve Maruo.

The third-oldest rescue in the country, Sunday Morning Breakfast Mission has been committed to helping the homeless in the city of Philadelphia since 1878. They offer a meal service program, with three meals a day, and men's shelter in Center City, while providing a transitional home for women in Germantown.

While the teams continue to serve at TU Pavilion on North Broad, they will also continue their surrounding community.

"We will continue to support this great organization and look forward to their next event," said Mauro.
