Teesdale leads Golf to 8th Place After Day One of Furman Intercollegiate

Greenville, S.C. - Temple golf turned in a solid first round at the Furman Intercollegiate Friday, posting an eight-over 296 to place 8th among the 18 competing teams at the 6,994-yard, par-72 Furman University Golf Course.

Senior Matt Teesdale led the Owls, and tied for 9th with a one-under 71.  Junior Brandon Matthews was one-stroke back and tied for 20th with an even par 72.  Senior Patrick Ross carded a three-over 75 to tie for 51st while freshman Mark Farley (78, t-80th) and Evan Thornton (79, t-87th) rounded out the Owls' team. 

Brandon Robinson-Thompson of South Carolina-Aiken and Nick Torrance of Jacksonville tied for first with five-under 67s  while South Carolina-Aiken led the field with a four-under 284.
