4.24.15 | Women's Lacrosse

PHILADELPHIA - The 2015 season will conclude for Temple lacrosse with a 3:00 p.m. game at Georgetown on Saturday, April 25. The Owls (10-5, 2-4) are looking to close out the year with a win, while the Hoyas (6-9, 5-1) can earn a share of the BIG EAST Conference regular season title with a win against Temple.

The Owls have been eliminated from contention for one of the four berths in next weekend's conference tournament. They began the season with one of the best starts in program history, going 8-1, but have struggled in the tough BIG EAST Conference. After a narrow, 9-7 loss to Villanova in the final home game of the year, Temple rebounded for a 16-3 win at Cincinnati in its most recent contest on April 19.

Senior Macie Hauck and junior Rachel Schwaab scored three goals apiece in helping lead the Owls to their decisive win against the Bearcats. Temple controlled the offense all game long with 38 total shots to the Bearcats' six. Schwaab totaled six points for the game, adding three assists to her three goals. The hat trick was her first of the season and fifth of her career. It was the first career hat trick for Hauck, who also recorded one assist in the win. In total, 11 players scored for Temple.

Six players have reached double figures in goal-scoring this season for the Owls, led by junior Nicole Tiernan with 34 goals. Schwaab has come on strong in recent games, and now has 14 goals to go with a team-high 14 assists. Her 28 total points rank second on the team behind Tiernan.

Temple leads Georgetown 4-2 in the all-time series, and the teams are tied 2-2 in Washington, D.C. Last season, the Hoyas won 13-6 at Multi-Sport Field.

Senior Caroline Tarzian leads the Hoyas in scoring with 31 points on 21 goals and 10 assists. Sophomore Colleen Lovett has managed 17 goals and nine assists for 26 points. Junior Kristen Bandos rounds out the top three with 24 points on 23 goals and one assist.
