PHILADELPHIA  - Tilghman Moyer, who has served in a leadership role for Temple University's Office of Institutional Advancement since 2008, has been named to the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director/Associate Vice President for Athletic Development.

"Tilghman is the perfect choice to oversee our athletic development office," said Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "He brings with him not only a wealth of experience in the industry, but a familiarity with Temple University, the athletic department and our strong corps of donors and supporters."

In his new role, Moyer will focus his attention on raising private funds in support of Temple University student-athletes, while also having oversight of the athletic development operation.

"I am excited about this opportunity to work more closely raising the private support that is critical to providing the best opportunities for our student athletes," said Moyer. "This is a tremendous time for Temple athletics, and I am looking forward to working with Dr. Kraft, the rest of his team and our alumni and fans, to advance the program."

Prior to joining the athletics staff, Moyer had oversight of all fundraising activities for 14 of the University's 18 schools and colleges, as well as athletics and libraries.  In addition, he managed the annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, gift planning and central leadership giving operations. Moyer also served as Interim Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement from 2012-2014.  Under his direction, the University recorded the two highest levels of annual support in the history of Temple.

Before arriving at Temple, Moyer worked at Muhlenberg College for nearly 15 years. In the last seven years of his tenure, Moyer served as Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.  At Muhlenberg, he was responsible for the implementation and coordination of all fundraising and alumni relations activities and led the largest comprehensive campaign in the college's history. Prior to being named Vice President, Moyer served Muhlenberg in a variety of positions in the development operation including Director of Annual Giving, the Director of Development Services and the Muhlenberg Fund, and the Associate Vice President for Development and Director of Capital Projects.

Moyer, who has presented at numerous AFP and CASE conferences, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University in 1990, and his Master of Arts  in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in 1998.
