Brandon Matthews Named to 2015 American Athletic Conference Men’s Golf All-Conference Team

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University junior golfer Brandon Matthews was named to the American Athletic Conference Men's Golf All-Conference team for the second straight season.
Matthews, who placed in the Top 10 in 11 of the Owls' 12 tournaments this season, established a new school record for season stroke average (71.0) while tying school marks for consecutive wins (3) and career wins (8).
A two-time conference Golf Player of the Week, Matthews won the Temple Invitational in the fall before rattling off victories at the Furman Intercollegiate, the Met Intercollegiate and the Princeton Invitational. He also won the prestigious Dixie Amateur in December.
The Dupont, Pa. native, currently ranked 52nd by Golfstat.com, will compete at the U.S. Open Qualifier held on Monday, May 11 at the Trump National Golf Club in Pine Hill, N.J. He will then travel to New Haven, Conn. to play in the NCAA Regional being held at The Course at Yale from May 14-16.
