Women's Rowing's Stark Named Academic All-Area

PHILADELPHIA -- Nicole Stark, a rising senior on the Temple women's rowing team, took home Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area accolades. She was one of nine area rowers selected for the honor.

Stark, hailing from Wexford, Pa., carries a 3.83 grade-point average. She rowed in bow for the silver-medal winning varsity four at the Kerr Cup and was the three-seat in the third-place second varsity four at the Kelly Cup. Stark also rowed to a silver medal with the varsity four at the Murphy Cup, and has also spent time as coxswain this season. She was this season's Owl Club Academic Award winner for the women's rowing team, and was also named to Temple Athletics' 2015 Trustee Ten. 

The Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area teams are voted on by the sports information offices of the 29 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, an athlete must be in at least her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.
