Brandon Matthews Ties for Third at Sunnehanna Amateur

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Temple University golfer Brandon Matthews shot a five-under 65 on the final round of the 62nd annual Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament for Champions Saturday to forge a tie for third at 10-under in the 89-player field held at the Sunnehanna Country Club.
Matthews, who will be entering his senior season at Temple in the fall, opened the four-day tournament with an identical 65 and posted even-par 70s in the other two rounds.
Derek Bard of Virginia University won the event, finishing at 12-under while Georgia Southern golfer Scott Wolfes was second at 11-under. Â USF All-American Chase Koepka was tied with Matthews as was Ohio State's Will Grimmer.
The Dupont, Pa. native will next compete at the Northeast Amateur  Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, R.I. from June 24-27.
