PHILADELPHIA - To help Temple Athletics continue to tell its stories in new and exciting ways, a three-person video crew, headed up by Assistant Athletic Director for Video Services Kevin Copp, has joined the athletics department. Working alongside Copp will be two Temple graduates, Scott Hartkorn and Chris Williams, who will serve as video production coordinators.

"We needed to have more of a video presence for Temple Athletics, and by creating this new department we have done just that," said Senior Associate Athletic Director Larry Dougherty.  "We have a lead person in Kevin Copp who has accumulated a vast amount of experience at both Georgia and Towson, and is also familiar with Temple Athletics. He is complemented with two recent Temple graduates, who have honed their skills while undergraduates as well as in the real world. This team clearly will give Temple a strong visual identity capable of delivering the great accomplishments of our student-athletes to our fan base."

In his role at Temple, Copp will oversee the newly-launched video services department, which will provide on-demand video content on OwlsTV as well as in-venue video boards at Lincoln Financial Field, the Liacouras Center, and Pearson-McGonigle Hall. Copp will oversee production of all live broadcasts for numerous sports on OwlsTV, and also serve as on-camera talent and as a play-by-play broadcaster on occasion.

"It's an absolute thrill to be back at Temple where I started my career in collegiate athletics as an intern," said Copp, "and to be working with Larry who gave me that opportunity eight years ago. Returning to my hometown after eight amazing years at Georgia and Towson to launch an in-house video department at an institution of this magnitude is truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance. I can't think of two people better suited to work alongside me in this venture than Scott and Chris, who are Temple graduates with tremendous talent and a passion for Temple athletics."

Copp came to Temple after six months as the Director of New Media for Towson University Athletics where he produced and/or supervised the production of all video content for TowsonTigers.com and the Towson Athletics YouTube channel. Copp also produced and directed live video broadcasts and in-venue video boards at Towson's arenas and served as a broadcaster for basketball, lacrosse, gymnastics, baseball and softball.

Prior to his time at Towson, Copp spent five years at the University of Georgia, first as a video production assistant and then as the video production manager for Georgia IMG Sports Marketing. He was responsible for producing and editing video while also serving as on-camera and play-by-play talent. He supervised the staff that produced the live broadcasts for six sports, and also cut video for highlight films and produced weekly shows.

Copp started his career at Georgia as an intern for Georgia IMG Sports Marketing. During that time he also worked as a play-by-play broadcaster for the SEC Network and ESPNU for various events, and did weekly interviews and play-by-play for the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network.

Copp earned his bachelor's degree in English from Georgia in 2010. He is not a stranger to Temple, having been an intern in the athletic communications departments at both Temple and UMass-Dartmouth while working toward his degree at Georgia.

Hartkorn is a 2010 graduate of Temple with a degree in broadcasting, communications and mass media. Since his graduation five years ago, Hartkorn has worked with both Temple and Villanova as well as the Philadelphia Eagles and the Collegiate Water Polo Association.

In the 2014 NFL season, Hartkorn served as a multimedia producer for the Eagles, creating original video content for their website. Among other responsibilities, Hartkorn served as the lead producer/editor of 'The Week in Review,' 'Story of the Game,' and the daily '360 Update.' He was also the director and technical director of press conferences, and assisted with studio setup and production of "Eagles Gameplan,"  a TV program on 6ABC.

Prior to joining the Eagles' staff, Hartkorn spent two years as an assistant multimedia director for the Collegiate Water Polo Association. He served the CWPA in a variety of capacities through being either a camera operator, technical director or instant replay controller during 400+ live broadcasts of fast-paced college water polo games. Prior to his time with the CWPA, Hartkorn spent the 2011-12 season as a video coordinator for Villanova University football. He was heavily involved in the Temple football program throughout his time as a student, serving as a video production assistant from 2006-11.

Williams is a 2015 graduate of Temple with a degree in media studies and production. Like Hartkorn, Williams spent time honing his skills by working with the Temple football team for the past three years as a videographer/editor. Since January of this year, Williams also served as an intern for 2one5 Productions in Philadelphia.

During his time as a student at Temple, Williams was active with both the OwlSports Update and Temple Update TV shows, and also completed an internship with 20/20 Visual Media Production Company.
