Rapacz Earns American Weekly Honor Roll Nod

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple sophomore Izzy Rapacz earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending September 13.

Rapacz was named the MVP of the Hilton Penn's Landing Cherry & White Challenge, leading the Owls to a 3-0 record. The sophomore hit .409 for the tournament, and had at least nine kills in each match. Against Montana on Friday, Rapacz notched nine kills with two blocks in a 3-0 sweep of the Grizzles. On Saturday, she opened the day with a a 13-kill performance against Duquesne, also grabbing five digs and four blocks. Closing out the tournament, Rapacz recorded 12 kills, hitting .611 with a pair of blocks, as the Owls swept Binghamton.

Temple is back in action at the 2015 Philadelphia Big 5 Tournament. The defending champions at the event, the Owls open play on Friday at 4:00 p.m. against La Salle at the Palestra. TU then hosts the Saturday matches at McGonigle Hall.
