Men's Soccer Continues City Matchups Sunday at Penn

9.17.15 | Men's Soccer

PHILADELPHIA – Coming off an impressive 2-1 win against Villanova on Wednesday, Sept. 16, the #23-ranked Temple men's soccer team is set to face city-rival Penn on Sunday beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Rhodes Field. The Owls are looking for their sixth consecutive win in the 2015 season.

Juniors Carlos Moros Gracia and Jorge Gomez Sanchez hit two critical second-half goals after playing almost 70 scoreless minutes against Villanova to come away with the win. This was the first career goal for Moros Gracia and the seventh of the season for Gomez Sanchez, who currently leads the nation in game-winning goals with four through six matches.

The Quakers have yet to find a win in their 2015 campaign, currently holding a 0-3-1 record after facing tough opponents including two ranked programs. Their single draw came against No. 9 Washington in the Quakers' season opener.

The Owls' last meeting with the Quakers resulted in a 3-0 victory for Penn in Sept., 2014. Penn leads the series against Temple 23-6-6.
