Women's Soccer Travels to #24 USF for Sunday Matchup

TAMPA, Fla. – To continue its American Athletic Conference schedule, the Temple women's soccer team travels across the state of Florida to take on #24 USF in a Sunday afternoon. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
The Owls started American Athletic Conference play on Thursday, dropping their opening game to reigning regular season champions UCF 1-0.
Freshman Jordan Nash had another impressive day in the net, allowing only one goal to be scored and tallying six saves. Nash is third in the American Athletic Conference with 33 saves and a .846 saves percentage.
The Owls best chance to score in the game came when senior Erin Lafferty took the only shot on goal in the 63rd minute.
Even with the loss, senior Kelly Farrell still leads NCAA?in goals scored (11) and total points (24), while also leading the conference in those categories as well.
A win against USF would give the Owls their first win against the Bulls and their first against a ranked opponent during their time in the American Athletic Conference.

#24 USF opened conference play on Thursday, defeating 2014 American Athletic Conference champions #20 UConn, 1-0 after a 43 minute weather delay in the first half.
Senior Jackie Simpson scored the only goal of the game in the 79th minute off assists from Grace Adams and Allie Rossi. Simpson also helped the Bulls hold of the Huskies late charge to tie the game up.
Goalkeeper Kat Elliot made nine saves in the game, boosting her up to 40 on the season. Elliot currently ranks first in the American Athletic Conference in saves and saves per game (4.00), as well as having a .481 goals against average.
Last season, USF and UConn faced off in the American Athletic Conference Tournament championship, with the Huskies taking the win, 3-2 on penalty kicks.
