Briana Odom Named ECAC Gymnast of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. - With all conference opponents now actively competing in 2016, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has released its first set of Corvias Women's Gymnastics Athletes of the Week. Temple's Briana Odom was named gymnast of the week following her performances in the Owls' two-meet weekend.

Odom, a junior captain out of Waldorf, Md., competed in the all-around for the first time in 2016. At the Lindsey Ferris Invite, Odom earned three season highs on vault (9.675), bars (9.675) and beam (9.725). She was also able to top two of her career marks, earning a 9.8 on floor to total an all-around score of 38.875.

Previously, Odom held a top all-around mark of 38.475 earned in her freshman season. She was able to earn USAG first team All-American status in that same year after placing 8th overall at USAG Nationals.

The Owls return to competition on Saturday, Jan. 23 at the University of Pittsburgh for a quad meet featuring Central Michigan and New Hampshire. The meet is set for 6:00 p.m.
