Women's Basketball Hosts Tulsa on ESPNU on Friday

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team hosts conference-rival Tulsa on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at McGonigle Hall. The game will be broadcast live by ESPNU with Melissa Lee (play-by-play) and Katie Smith (analyst) on the call.Â
The Owls
• Temple is 8-5 overall and 2-1 in the American.Â
• SMU snapped Temple's five-game win streak with a 69-67 win on Tuesday. The Owls shot just 44.4% from the free throw line, and the Mustangs used two free throws with :05 remaining to seal the victory.
• Alliya Butts led the Owls with 22 points and a career-high seven steals, while Feyonda Fitzgerald scored 11 points with eight assists, including the 1,000th point of her career.
 • Erica Covile notched her 11th career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Ugo Nwaigwe finished with season highs in points (8), rebounds (9), and blocks (5).
• For the year, Fitzgerald leads Temple with 16.2 points and 5.3 assists per game. Butts is second on the team, averaging 15.8 points a game, and has racked up a team-best 34 steals.
• Atkinson averages 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest, while Covile (10.2 ppg, 7.1 rpg) and Fountain (9.1 ppg ppg, 6.5 rpg) bolster the Owls on both ends of the floor.Â
The Golden Hurricane
• Tulsa is 5-9 overall, with a 2-1 conference mark. The Hurricane most recently fell to #1 UConn, 95-35.Â
• Ashley Clark had a team-best 10 points against the Huskies, followed by Liesl Spoerl with six, and Kelsee Grovey and Ashley Hughes with five each. Â
• The Hurricane average 65.5 points per game, shooting 40.0% from the field, 31.0% from three, and 63.3% from the line.Â
• Clark leads Tulsa with 13.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, while Erika Wakefield scores 10.7 points per game and has a team-best 51 assists. Grovey also aids the offense, scoring 10.6 points an outing.
