Men's Tennis Opens Up Play at the ITA Regional Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Temple's men tennis opened up play at the 2016 ITA Regional Championship hosted by Virginia Tech University.
In the first round of singles, the Owls collected several wins. Artem Kapshuk bested Tyler Roth from Villanova 6-4 and 6-2. Uladzimir Dorash was able to top Philip Moebius of VCU 6-3 and 6-4.
Filip Stipcic was defeated by Christian Lutschaunig of Penn State. Eric Biscoveanu also fell to a Nittany Lion, dropping his match against Henry Gordon 6-3 and 6-1.
Steve Hollander also fell in his first match against Adam Blasinsky of Duquesne 6-1 and 6-1.
The first round of doubles saw success for Dorash and Stipcic who defeated the ODU duo of Nunez and Perelman. Kapshuk and Biscoveanu fell to the tandem of Cargill/Niquet from William & Mary, 8-3, in their opening doubles match.
Temple men's tennis will resume play at the ITA Regional Championship tomorrow.
