News and Notes Following Temple's 26-25 Win at UCF…

Temple trailed nearly the entire game (58:48). The Owls fell behind just 1:11 seconds into the game and didn't take the lead until 0:01 to go.

Temple's defense limited UCF for most of the night. UCF gained just 296 total yards on 58 plays. However, four plays (63t and 32-yard runs, and 55t and 42-yard passes) produced 192 of those yards. The other 54 plays equated to 104 yards. Nearly half (6 of 13) of UCF's drives produced zero or negative yardage.

The second half shutout was the second of the season for Temple (Stony Brook was the other).

Temple recorded seven sacks, the most since recording 10 against Penn State in 2015. The team now has 20 sacks – 15 in the last three games.

Senior RB Jahad Thomas topped the century mark in rushing (27-120-1TD) for the seventh time in his career and the first time this season. He also added 33 yards on three catches and another touchdown. Thomas has now scored a pair of touchdowns in all five games he has played this season. Among FBS players, only Thomas and Louisville QB Lamar Jackson have scored two-or-more touchdowns in five games this season, however, Thomas' streak of five consecutive games is the longest active streak in the nation. Only Jackson (15 TDs in 6 games) and Boise State's RB Jeremy McNichols (14 in 6 games) average more than Thomas' 2.0 TDs per game, however, while Thomas' 10 TDs are exceeded by only five players in the country (and none in the American Athletic Conference), you won't find him among the leader board as a player must have played in at least 75% of his team's games to be posted.

One Temple player who finds himself atop the national, rankings is redshirt senior DL Haason Reddick. Reddick is the only FBS player in the country to average 2.0 tackles for loss per game and his 14.0 TFLs leads the nation. His 6.5 sacks lead the American Conference and are tied for seventh in the country. Reddick continued his outstanding play at UCF with 7 tackles, including 2.0 TFLs and 2.0 sacks.

True freshman walk-on kicker Aaron Boumerhi was pressed into duty after Austin Jones suffered an ACL injury a week ago. Boumerhi scored 8 points, connecting on field goals of 32 and 47 yards – both in the 3rd quarter as the Owls chipped away at UCF's 25-14 halftime lead.

The Owls offense was efficient. Two players produced first downs each time they touched the ball – redshirt sophomore WR Ventell Bryant had five catches, including three on the final scoring drive; and junior WR Adonis Jennings, had one 14-yard catch and one 12-yard end around. Sophomore RB Ryquell Armstead converted six of his 14 carries into first downs including runs of 11, 11, and 15-yards.

Redshirt senior TE/DL Romond Deloatch continues to makes plays on both sides of the ball. He had a career-high three tackles, including 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble. He also recorded one catch for 7-yards.

Redshirt senior DB Nate Hairston recorded his first career interception extinguishing UCF's most successful 4th quarter drive.
