PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer falls to conference foe Tulsa 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Temple Sports Complex. The Owls drop to 3-9, 0-2 on the season and the Golden Hurricane advance to 5-6-1, 1-1.

The first half started slow for both teams. It wasn't until the 41^st minute when freshman Molly Tobin knocked in her first career goal. Tobin took the rebound inside the six-yard mark and drilled it home to give the Owls the lead 1-0.

The Golden Hurricane entered the second half and made its presence known. Just one minute and six seconds into the half, Darienne Chapman took a pass from Anna Williams after the initial free kick rebounded off of the crossbar, and sent it past sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Nash.

Almost 17 minutes later, Tulsa struck again. Anna Williams drove down field and put a crosser to Rachel Thun who headed the shot left into the net. This marked Williams' second assist of the afternoon.

The Owls had a few chances on set plays toward the end of the game as they had free kicks just outside the 18-yard mark. Unfortunately, Temple couldn't connect.

On the day, Temple finished with 14 shots as a team, with leading scorer Gabriella McKeown paving the way with five.

In net, Nash finished with eight saves and the two goals against on 16 shots faced. On the weekend, the sophomore saved 25 combined shots in the team's first two conference games.

Temple will continue conference play next weekend as the team makes a Texas road trip to take on Houston (Thursday at 7 p.m.) and SMU (Sunday at 1 p.m.).
