Women's Basketball Heads to American Media Day on Monday

PHILADELPHIA -- American Athletic Conference Basketball Media Day is set for Monday, October 24. Temple women's basketball will be represented by head coach Tonya Cardoza, and three players - senior Feyonda Fitzgerald, and juniors Tanaya Atkinson and Alliya Butts. The event is being held at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott.
Media day serves as the unofficial open to the women's and men's basketball seasons, and the American Digital Network will be on hand providing live coverage of the event. Commissioner Mike Aresco's opening remarks will begin at 11:45 a.m. on the women's side, and coaches and student-athletes from all 22 men's and women's teams will also appear on the show throughout the day. Coach Cardoza and Fitzgerald will be interviewed live on the show at 1:49 p.m.

The preseason poll, along with preseason player of the year, and first and second-team all-conference honors will also be announced that day ahead of both the men's and women's sessions.
On Sunday night, the assembled basketball student-athletes will take part in a media training session from The Speaking Specialists, designed to assist them throughout the season. Additionally, basketball student-athletes will be taking part in an organized service activity Monday, building bags for children in need.
