Mahoney and Wix Rauch Named to American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll

10.24.16 | Men's Soccer

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Two Temple men's soccer players have been named to the American Athletic Conference's weekly honor roll following their play in last week's two games. Matt Mahoney and Jordan Wix Rauch notched the spots after both posting their first goals of the 2016 season.

In the Owls' 2-1 victory over Delaware, the senior captain Mahoney knocked in a 78-th minute game winner that secured the victory for Temple. With the win on Tuesday, the Owls completed their nonconference slate with an 8-3 record, defeating all nonconference opponents at home.

Wix Rauch also found himself in the hero role on Saturday night. After going down early against defending tournament champions Tulsa, Wix Rauch knocked in an equalizer in the 87th minute to help avoid a loss against the Golden Hurricane. The goal was Wix Rauch's first of the season.

The Owls have only two games remaining in the 2016 regular season. UCF will travel to Philadelphia on Saturday for Temple's final home match at the Temple Sports Complex. The game will also honor the Owls' seven graduating seniors prior to the start of the game.

A week after the UCF match, the Owls will hit the roadto close the season out against USF.
