Men's Tennis Opens up at Farnsworth Invitational

PRINCETON, NJ.- Three Owls took to the courts at the Farnsworth Invitational Friday afternoon.
Top singles performer Florian Mayer bested Peter Beatty from Georgetown 6-0 and 6-2 in round one. Unfortunately, in round two Mayer was defeated by Jimmy Wasserman from Princeton 3-6, 6-3, and 6-1.
In the singles for division two, Eric Biscoveanu was bested by Jan Cimrman from NJIT 6-4 and 6-1 in round one. However, Biscoveanu did defeat Daniel Zheng from Paris 6-1 and 6-3 in round two in the consolation round.
Steven Hollander played in division three of the singles bracket and was defeated by Gonzalo Quintana of Farleigh Dickerson 6-2 and 6-3. Hollander was also bested by Mayson Xue from USMA 6-4 and 6-1.
In division A doubles, the tandem of Florian Mayer/Eric Biscoveanu was defeated by Alan Nunez/Daniel Skripnik from St. John's 8-6.
In the division C doubles, the mixed team pairings of Steven Hollander (Temple)/ Billy Bourne (Farleigh Dickerson) was bested by the tandem of Jack Murphy/Bart Panarese from Georgetown 8-4.
Temple men's tennis will be back in action tomorrow.
