Moros Gracia Named 2016 NSCAA Scholar All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Following the completion of the 2016 men's soccer season, the NSCAA has announced their 2016 Scholar All-America teams. Owls' senior Carlos Moros Gracia grabbed a second-team nod for the first Scholar All-American honor of his career. He was also placed on the first team in the Regional Scholar All-America selections.
Student-athletes who have received the honor all hold a 3.3 cumulative GPA or above, start in more than 50-percent of all games with significant contribution, have been nominated by a head coach of a current NSCAA College Services member institution, and be a junior or above in academic standing.
The adult and organizational development major boasts a 3.52 GPA and was named the Nancy & Donald Resnick Support Center for Student-Athletes Scholar Athlete of the Month in September of this year. With his efforts inside the classroom, Moros Gracia helped guide the program to two NSCAA College Team Academic Awards during his time as an Owl.
On the field, the 2016 first-team All-American Athletic Conference pick and All-East Region second-team selection capped off a two-year career with one goal and one assist. Moros Gracia posted strong as a center back and led a back line that allowed only three goals in an unbeaten home season.
Overall, Moros Gracia will graduate this month with two seasons of compiled success both on and off the field. Totaling four goals and two assists while playing nearly every minute of every game, Moros Gracia was a two-time All-East region pick and two-time All-Conference pick while also earning a place on the ECAC DI All-Star team in November.
