Women's Basketball Heads to Memphis for Thursday Showdown

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team heads to Memphis for a Thursday showdown with the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. ET. Temple (17-8, 11-3 American) will look to bounce back from a loss to No. 1 UConn on Sunday, while Memphis (15-10, 9-5) has won six out of their last seven games. The game is being broadcast live on the American Digital Network.Â
The Owls
• Temple is 17-8 overall, 11-3 in The American.
• #1 UConn handed the Owls an 85-60 loss on Sunday, snapping a six-game win streak.
• Donnaizha Fountain led the Owls, notching 15 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, while Alliya Butts finished with 14 points.Â
• Feyonda Fitzgerald had 10 points and a team-high four assists, while Tanaya Atkinson had nine points, six rebounds and four steals. Erica Covile ended with seven points, eight rebounds, and four steals.Â
• For the year, Butts leads the Owls with 15.6 points per game, while grabbing 70 total steals. Fitzgerald is second with 13.0 points per game, averaging a team-high 5.1 assists per game.Â
