Lacrosse Looks for Fourth Straight Win at Home Tuesday vs. Wagner

PHILADELPHIA - Looking for win number four in a row, Temple lacrosse returns home to face Wagner at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1. The game will be broadcast live by Owls TV with Kevin Copp handling play-by-play duties. The Owls (3-1) are coming off back-to-back 17-goal performances, while Wagner is still looking for its first win after starting the season 0-3.

Headlines
• Temple has won three in a row, outscoring those three opponents 47-12.
• The Owls are coming off a 17-6 win at Lafayette in their first road game of the season on Feb. 27, with their 17-goal output being their second straight after a 17-4 win vs. UC Davis on Feb. 21.
• Seniors Megan Tiernan and Rachel Schwaab lead Temple with eight goals apiece. Schwaab has also tallied a team-best seven assists and leads the team with 15 total points.
• Megan Tiernan has scored four free-position goals to tie for first in the BIG EAST Conference.
• Schwaab's 1.75 assists per game currently lead all players in the BIG EAST. Her 3.75 points per game are tied for second in the league.
• Eight players have scored three or more goals for Temple, and five hat tricks have already been recorded by the Owls. Megan Tiernan has hat tricks in each of the last two games for Temple, and her four-goal performance at Lafayette was a season-high for any player so far.
• Senior goalkeeper Jaqi Kakalecik has played every minute in the cage, making 24 saves while allowing only 20 goals for a save percentage of .545. Kakalecik made four saves in the second half at Lafayette, not allowing the Leopards a single goal in that period.
• Junior midfielder Morgan Glassford was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Feb. 23 after totaling four goals and 11 draw controls in the Owls' 2-0 week with wins vs. La Salle and UC Davis. Glassford has scored seven goals to tie for third on the team, and her 18 draw controls lead the Owls. Her 4.50 draws per game lead all players in the BIG EAST.
• Temple's 5.00 goals against average is tops among BIG EAST teams so far this season.
• The Owls rank third among BIG EAST teams in goals per game (13.0), assists per game (5.50), points per game (18.50) and draw controls per game (11.50).
• Senior midfielder Nicole Tiernan was a unanimous selection to the 2016 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. The Owls were picked to finish sixth of eight teams in the conference in the preseason poll.
• Temple will play 12 of its 17 regular-season games at home on Geasey Field. After a game this Saturday at UMBC, the Owls will play five in a row at home from March 9-26.
• The Owls are looking to make their first appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament since joining the league as an associate member in 2014. The four-team tournament will be hosted by Georgetown in Washington, D.C. on May 5 and 7.
• Temple and Wagner have played each other just once before, with the Owls edging the Seahawks 10-9 on the road last year (March 4, 2015). The Seahawks are still looking for their first win this season, going 0-3 with losses at Iona (17-12), #3 Syracuse (16-5) and American (7-5).
