Atkinson Named to American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA – Temple sophomore Tanaya Atkinson was name to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending March 1.
Atkinson led the Owls in scoring and rebounding in the final three games of the regular season, averaging 14.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Opening the week against Tulane, she tallied 12 boards with four points and three steals in the win. At nationally-ranked USF, Atkinson had 15 points and five rebounds as the Owls fell to the Bulls. In the regular-season finale, she finished with a game-high 24 points, also adding nine rebounds and a pair of steals against UCF.
Up next, the Owls will head to the American Athletic Conference Tournament. Temple has the number three seed and will play in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. against the winner of the Tulsa/Houston game.
