Quick WNIT Turnaround has WBB at Quinnipiac on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team will play a second-round WNIT match-up on the road at Quinnipiac on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. The Owls are looking to avenge a two-point loss (58-56) to the Bobcats in Connecticut in November.
The Owls
• Temple carries a 21-11 overall record, earning a post-season spot for the second-straight year.
• The AQ out of the American Athletic Conference, Temple advanced to the WNIT second round with a 74-66 win over Drexel on Friday.
• A 13-2 fourth quarter run pushed Temple past Drexel, in a tightly played game. Each team held at least a seven point lead, as the advantage changed hands 13 times.
• Temple grabbed the momentum late, shooting 56.5% in the second half, holding the Dragons to 38.2% to earn the victory.
• Alliya Butts led the Owls with 24 points and five assists, while Feyonda Fitzgerald finished with 19 points and four assists. Erica Covile notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.
• Four players average double-figures in scoring for the Owls, led by All-Conference guards in Butts (15.5 ppg, 2.9 apg, 2.4 spg) and Fitzgerald (13.2 ppg, 5.3 apg).
• Temple's other starting guards each average over nine points and six rebounds per game: Tanaya Atkinson (12.8 ppg, 6.8 rpg), Donnaizha Fountain (10 ppg, 6.6 rpg), Erica Covile (9.6 ppg, 7.3 rpg).
• As a team, Temple averages 70 points per outing, shooting 39.2% from the field, 29.5% from three, and 70.3% from the foul line.
The Bobcats
• Quinnipiac enters the game with a 25-8 overall mark, earning the CAA's automatic bid.
• The Bobcats had a huge first-round win, dispatching Maine, 90-44 on Friday, to win the program's first ever post-season game.
• Paula Strautmane was perfect from the floor, going 10-of-10 for the game on her way to 21 points and nine rebounds, as the Bobcats shot a season-high 60.3% (38-63) from the floor.
• For the season, Maria Napolitano (10.7 ppg) is the only Bobcat to average in double-figures, but seven players average six or more points on the season.
• Stautmane and Aryn McClure each average over eight points and around six rebounds per game to round out the leaders.

• The all-time series between Temple and Quinnipiac is tied 1-1, with the Bobcats taking a 58-56 win in November this season.
