Farley Cards Even Par to Lead Golf at Furman Intercollegiate

Greenville, S.C. - Sophomore Mark Farley had his best round of the season, carding an even-par 72 to pace the Temple Golf team Friday on the first of three days at the 47th Annual Furman Intercollegiate.  The tournament is being held at the 6,994 par-72 Furman University Golf Course. 

Temple is in 17th place among the 19 competing teams, with a 10-over 298.  The Owls are 14 shots behind the leader, Harvard (284, -4), which owns a one-stroke lead over Georgia State (285, -3).

Farley, who is tied for 24th overall, is three shots ahead of teammates, senior Brandon Matthews and redshirt freshman John Barone, who are tied for 57th with three-over rounds of 75.  Freshman Trey Wren is over stroke back and tied for 69th with a 76 while freshman Gary McCabe round out the Temple five with an 81 (t-107).

Wofford's Andrew Novak and Marshall's Logan Lagodich lead the field with five-under 67s.

The Owls will tee-off for round two at 8:00am Saturday.
