India Anderson Named ECAC Rookie of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – Following the Owls' final home meet of the season against Penn and Bridgeport, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has released its weekly Corvias Women's Gymnastics honors. Temple's India Anderson was named the rookie of the week for the first time this season.
The freshman earned two career-high scores on Saturday with a near-perfect 9.7 on vault with her explosive layout yurchenko. Anderson's mark earned her the bronze medal on the event. On floor, where Anderson has been consistent all season, her performance garnered her a 9.8 that ranked first for the Owls and in a tie for second overall.
Anderson now ranks in a tie for ninth in the conference on vault with a RQS of 9.660. Her floor RQS, 9.715, just misses the top-10 as she sits in a tie for 11th among all ECAC floor performers.
The Owls return to competition on Saturday, March 12 for their final regular season competition at Brown University. The tri-meet featuring Southern Connecticut is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
