Women's Varsity Eight Named American Boat of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Temple women's varsity eight was named the American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week for the period ending April 17.
The Owls' had a fantastic weekend of racing at the Kerr Cup, highlighted by a gold medal finish by the first varsity eight. Temple snapped Drexel's two-year win streak at their home regatta, winning the Lela H. Kerr Cup for the first time since 1993. The Owls advanced to the finals with a win in the heats, clocking in at 6:30.95, ahead of a six-team field. In the finals, Temple won a tight race in a time of 6:36.16, defeating Fordham, Drexel, St. Joseph's, West Point and Lehigh.
