Watch Temple Athletics' Celebration of Champions Live on Tuesday Evening

PHILADELPHIA - Temple Athletics is honoring its student-athletes at the Celebration of Champions (formerly Breakfast of Champions) on Tuesday, April 26 at 5 p.m. Continuing a tradition started a year ago, the event will be streamed live by OwlsTV, starting at 5:30 p.m.
The annual event honors the best in Temple athletics, both on and off the field of play. Over 300 student-athletes will be recognized for academic and athletic accomplishments.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the program will begin around 5:30 p.m., after dinner is served to all attendees. Serving as emcees for the event will be Ray Smeriglio, Engagement Coordinator for The Office of Alumni Relations, and Justin Miller, Senior Director of the Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes. PNC will once again serve as the presenting sponsor for the Celebration of Champions.
Temple will honor PNC Male and Female Scholar Athletes of the Year and male and female Athletic Performers of the Year, separating awards that were previously combined as one. Another new honor this year will be (Owl)tastic Performance, nominated and voted on by the student-athletes.
Also recognized on Tuesday will be the male and female Enterprise Spirit and Sportsmanship Award recipients, male and female Community Service Award recipients, and a male and female NovaCare Comeback Student-Athlete of the Year. In addition, The Owl Trophy will be presented to the team with the highest GPA, and the Owl Cup Trophy will go to the team with the most hours of community service performed including attendance at Owl Cup contests for each sport.
The 10 student-athletes with the highest grade-point averages in the department will be honored as the Trustee Ten. All student-athletes with a GPA between 3.0-3.49 will be named to the Director's Honor Roll, while student-athletes will a GPA of 3.5 or above will be named to the President's Honor Roll.
