Blanca Fernandez and 4x800m Relay Close Out Penn Relays for Track & Field

PHILADELPHIA – Two events closed out an exciting three days of competition at the 122nd Penn Relays for Temple track and field. With Blanca Fernandez competing in her second Olympic Development Mile and the 4x800-meter relay capping off the weekend, the Owls now only have one outdoor meet remaining.
Fernandez, who set a new school record in the mile at Franklin Field last year, ran a 4:51.21 on Saturday afternoon to place ninth in the field.
Shortly following, Maya Halprin-Adams, Katie Pinson, Ashton Dunkley, and Erica Groomes ran a time of 9:20.62 to place 26th overall.
The Owls now look to the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships to close out the 2016 season. The four-day event will begin on Thursday, May 12 in Orlando, Fla.
