Brandon Matthews Named to PING All-Region Team

PHILADELPHIA - For the third straight year Temple senior golfer Brandon Matthews has been named to the Division I PING All-Northeast Region team.  The teams from the six regions were selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Matthews, who placed in the Top 10 in five of the nine tournaments he completed this season, led the Owls with a 72.8 stroke average.  The Dupont, Pa. native tied for first at the Cornell Spring South Invitational and finished his career with a three-under 213 at the American Athletic Conference Championship to place fifth overall.

Matthews, who tied the Temple career record for individual titles with eight, will also was a four-time all-conference honoree.  As a junior, he became the first Temple player to earn All-America honors since 1988 when we was named Honorable Mention All-American.
