Gomez Sanchez Named to Preseason All-Conference Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Following a breakout season in 2015, senior Jorge Gomez Sanchez has been named to the American Athletic Conference Preseason All-Conference Team. Gomez Sanchez finished the season in 2015 with 13 goals, five assists and 31 total points in 18 starts.
His performance last season ranked him in a tie for fifth in program history for goals scored in a single season and in a tie for sixth for total points in a single season. He led the conference at the end of the season in every overall category outside of assists and assists per game.
In the Owls' first exhibition match of 2016, Gomez Sanchez logged three shots with two on target. In the Preseason All-Conference Team, he joins fellow offensive players Abdou Mbacke Thiam of UConn, Nazeem Bartman of USF, and Mauro Cichero of SMU.
As a team, Temple men's soccer has been ranked fifth, with SMU earning the number one spot, garnering 47 points. Close behind the Mustangs is USF, earning 41 points, followed by UConn and Tulsa. UCF, Cincinnati and Memphis followed the Owls, respectively. Individually, both SMU and UConn boasted four members on the All-Conference Team.
