Temple Athletics Launches Redesign of OwlSports.com

1.31.17 | General

PHILADELPHIA - Temple Athletics debuted its redesigned website, OwlSports.com today (Jan. 31) with features that will allow fans greater access to the University's 19-varsity sports programs.

"The aim of this redesign of OwlSports.com is two-fold," said Deputy Director of Athletics Craig Angelos. "It is to utilize the latest technology available to allow for our website to be accessible across all platforms and also to be a one-stop place to engage our fans via social and digital media.  We are confident that this newly-designed site accomplishes these goals."

One of the key aspects of the redesign is its responsiveness to various platforms.  The site design will respond to various devices allowing fans viewing owlsports.com on a mobile, desktop, tablet or HD television the same design implementation, same content and a similar content workflow on each site as would be seen on the traditional site.

Another new addition is the site's integration of social media.  Now fans will be able to choose which social media feed they want to see and have a sortable social media system on mobile and desktop platforms.

The site also features an enhanced video presence. The video presence on Owlsports.com has been upgraded in visibility with the new design.  The videos will be available in a larger format that remains user friendly on mobile and desktop devices.

The new design also allows for a GameDay feature on the main site. This will visually show a countdown to the next big game on the slate for Temple Athletics.

Fans will also see that the schedules, rosters and bio pages on the site have been refreshed with the responsive design. The image rotators on student-athlete bios remain in place, but will respond to the device being used. The other pages have a different look that works the same on mobile and desktop devices.

Temple has been a partner with SIDEARM Sports, a Learfield company since June 2014 and the nation's leading digital provider serving more than 900 partners, since 2009.
