Covington Named Director of Compliance & Student-Athlete Affairs

PHILADELPHIA – Temple athletics has announced the hiring of Teresa Covington as Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Affairs.
 
"I'm very excited to add Teresa to our staff," noted Kristy Bannon Sromovsky, Associate AD/Compliance and Student-Athlete Affairs. "She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will be a great addition to our team here at Temple." 
 
As the Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Affairs, Covington will support the office's overall compliance and student-athlete affairs efforts, as well as serve as the office's liaison for financial aid.
 
Covington comes to Temple from Penn State University where she served as the Assistant Director for Athletics Compliance. With the Nittany Lions, she was responsible for managing the monitoring systems for all aspects of recruiting as well as provided education and interpretive support to PSU's 31 varsity sports.
 
Prior to her time at Penn State, she spent three years at the University of Mississippi. Covington started as the Compliance Coordinator, a position she held for two years, before being promoted to Assistant Director for Compliance.
 
A graduate of Marquette University Law School, she completed compliance internships in the athletics departments of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Northern Illinois University, and Marquette University.
 
Covington, a Philadelphia native, received her undergraduate degree from Penn State, majoring in public relations. In addition to earning her J.D. from Marquette, she received the Sports Law Certificate from the National Sports Law Institute.
