Atkinson Named to American Weekly Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple women's basketball player Tanaya Atkinson earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. The guard helped the Owls to a pair of wins last week, as the cherry and white won their sixth and seventh-straight games. 

Atkinson averaged 19.0 points and 10.0 rebounds, as Temple won its sixth and seventh-straight games, including winning a battle of teams receiving votes in the national poll. At Kennesaw State, the junior notched a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, also adding three steals. Against Tulane, she tied for team-high honors with 21 points, also pulling down eight rebounds. For the week, Atkinson shot 68.2% (15-22) from the field. 

Temple returns to action on Wednesday, hosting East Carolina on the American Digital Network at 7:00 p.m.
