Golf in 8th Place after Day One at Georgetown Intercollegiate Monday

BEALSVILLE, Md. – Playing in wet, windy and cold conditions, Temple Golf struggled to an eighth place finish after 36 holes at the 33rd Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate Monday. The Owls, 12 strokes behind first-place Seton Hall, will look to move Tuesday in the final 18 holes in the tournament held at the 6,950-yard, par-71 Members Club at Four Streams.
Tournament Notes
> Freshman Liam McGrath leads Temple and is tied for 14th overall with a nine-over 151. Junior Trey Wren is one stroke back and tied for 20th. Redshirt junior John Barone carded an 11-over 153 to tie for 22nd in the 60-man field.
> Barone had the best first round by an Owl, posting a four-over 75 while junior Sam Soeth had a two-over 73 to lead TU in the afternoon round.
> Rutgers Christopher Goetterup leads the field with a three-over 145.
