Men's Tennis Heads to ITA Regionals

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple men's tennis will head to Lynchburg, Va. for their final fall meet of the season at the ITA Regionals in Lynchburg, Va. The tournament will run Thursday Oct. 19 through Tuesday, Oct. 24.
 
TEMPLE ENTRIES
> The Owls will have eight members playing in the tournament, the most players the team has ever bought tot the event. 
> Senior Thomas Sevel, juniors Alberto Caceres Casas and Uladzimir Dorash, sophomores Juan Araoz, Eric Biscoveanu and Francisco Bohorquez, and freshman Michael Haelen and Mark Wallner will represent Temple.
 
SCHEDULE
> Thursday the opening day on competition will feature the two rounds of qualifying singles beginning at 11 a.m.
> Friday will have the doubles opening of 64 pairs and the singles opening round of 128 players beginning at 9 a.m.
> On Saturday, the men will continue their doubles play with 32 and 16 pairs and the singles will play their second round with 64 players beginning at 9 a.m.
> Sunday will hold quarterfinal rounds for doubles as well as the third and fourth round for singles with 32 and 16 players beginning at 9 a.m.
> Monday will conclude the doubles matches as the semifinals and will take play as well as the quarterfinals for singles beginning at 10 a.m.
> Tuesday will hold semifinals and finals for singles beginning at 10 a.m.
 
QUOTABLE
> "It's going to be tough competition but I'm real happy with the players we have competing in this tournament," said Temple head coach Steve Mauro. "The guys have been playing well and had good performances last week against Bucknell and Drexel. I'm curious to see how these guys perform at this high level but I like our chances."
 
> "We are playing against a lot  good players from good universities, so my goal is to obviously play well against them and get as many wins as I can," said Bohorquez. "All of our players in this tournament have talent and I think the goal for every singles player and every doubles pair is to go at least two to three rounds."
