Soeth Tops Golf in Day Two at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invite

STOCKTON, Calif. – Junior Sam Soeth rebounded from a sub-par first round to card a one-over 73 to lead Temple Golf in the second round at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invite Friday. Soeth, who entered tournament as the team's top golfer (74.0 stroke average), had shot an 80 on the first round Thursday. As a team, the Owls are in 19th overall among the 20 competing teams at the three-day tournament held at the par-72, 7,082-yard The Reserve at Spanos Park Golf Course.
Keys to the Match
> Redshirt junior John Barone still leads the Owls and is tied for 51st overall with a two-over 146. Barone shot a four-over 76 Friday after carding a two-under 70 Thursday.
> Junior Trey Wren is tied for 75th overall among the 112 golfers after a three-over 75 put him at five-over for the tournament (149).
> Soeth sits tied for 93rd with a nine-over 153 while freshmen Liam McGrath (155) and Dawson Anders (156) are tied for 100th and 102nd, respectively.

> Santa Clara continues to lead the field with a 14-under 562. They are three shots better than BYU and Nevada, both with 565 scores. The Owls are 36 strokes off the pace with a 598 score.
