Golf Looks to Defend City 6 Title Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – Temple will be looking for another strong finish to the fall golf season when they hit the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale course Saturday at the City 6 Championship. The Owls won a playoff hole with Villanova last year to capture the 2016 City 6 title to claim its first team championship in two years.
Keys to the Match
> Juniors Sam Soeth and Trey Wren are the team's top two golfers with each sporting a 74.4 stroke average.
> Redshirt junior John Barone (75.4) has also competed in all 14 rounds for the Owls with junior Gary McCabe (76.0) playing in eight rounds.
> Temple's two remaining golfers in the six-man field, seniors Mark Farley and Bobby Firth, will be making their first appearances of the fall.
Tournament Notes
> Temple won the Cornell Invitational to open the season so a victory would be the eighth in Temple coach Brian Quinn's 11-year tenure at the school.
> The Union League Golf Club at Torresdale is a par-70, 6,470-yard course.
> All six Philadelphia Division I schools will compete in the one-day, 18-hole round.
> Temple tees off from the first tee at 12:10 p.m.
