Men's Soccer Tops USF on Senior Day, 1-0 to Advance to AAC Semifinals

PHILADELPHIA - In a key conference match on senior day, Temple men's soccer (9-7-1, 4-3) snagged a 1-0 victory over USF (6-6-4, 3-3-1). Despite a stout USF defense, the Owls were able to bury one shot and keep the Bulls off the board.
Keys to the Match
> The Owls' first opportunity of the night was a shot taken by junior Belal Mohamed which turned up just high of the net.
> Temple made three more solid attempts to score in the first half, but were not able to finish. Two of which were blocked by USF defense.
> The Owls and the Bulls went into the second half scoreless, with sophomore Michael Samnik already tallying two saves.
> In the 53rd minute, senior Joonas Jokinen scored the game-winning goal. Off a corner kick taken by senior Divin Fula Luzolo, Jokinen snuck the ball into the net.
> In the 89th minute, a close USF shot was deflected by redshirt senior Mark Grasela, keeping the Bulls out of the net in the last minute of the game.
