Women's Basketball Wins Big in Exhibition

PHILADELPHIA -- It was a new look for the Temple women's basketball team but the same result that the Owls were used to -- a big win at home. Temple topped visiting University of Charleston, 92-44, in an exhibition game at McGonigle Hall on Sunday. The Owls will open the season for real on Friday, November 10, hosting Delaware State at 7:00 p.m.
KEYS TO THE GAME
> Underclassmen accounted for nearly half of Temple's minutes, but the Owls still relied heavily on senior leadership.
> Senior Tanaya Atkinson poured in 25 points with nine rebounds, while classmate Khadijah Berger added 11 points and seven assists.
> Temple shot 50% from the field (33-66) for the game, including 40% from long-range.
> The Owls put up a big first half, combining to shoot 61% from the field and 70% from three in the first 20 minutes.
