Track and Field Head to Navy for Tuesday's Navy Lid Lifter

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's track and field will head to Annapolis, Md, on Tuesday to compete at the Navy Lid-Lifter hosted at the U.S. Naval Academy. The Owls' first event of the day will be the long jump set to begin at 5 p.m. 

Scouting the Owls
> Track and field is in its fourth season under the direction of head coach Elvis Forde.
> The Owls will return 13 student-athletes and has brought in 18 newcomers this season. 
> During the 2016-2017 indoor season, junior Crystal Jones set a program record in the pentathlon at the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships with a mark of 3,528 points to earn second place overall in the event. Temple finished 10th overall in the American.
> This season, women's track and field will be led by co-captains Jones and junior Sylvia Wilson.
> At friday's Fastrack Season Opener hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, sophomore Ebonee Jackson and Jones won the 60m hurdles and the high jump, respectively. Jackson ran a personal best time of 8.59 which is just .3 seconds away from the program record in the event. 

Meet Information
> The Navy Lid Lifter will take place at the Wesley A. Brown Fieldhouse.
> 16 student-athletes are to compete across ten events including the 60m,  60m hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, mile, 4x 400m relay, long jump, triple jump, and shot put.
