Temple to Face Bethlehem Steel FC in Spring Season Scrimmage

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's soccer head coach David MacWilliams has announced a 2017 spring match against Bethlehem Steeal FC. The match will be the second of seven games that wil be played throughout the spring semester. On March 4, the Owls will take on Bethlehem Steel FC at 12 p.m. at the Power Training Complex, located just outside Talen Energy Stadium in Chester.

Temple men's soccer enters the spring season following a 10-6-2 season in the fall where the team had their second consecutive 10 win-season. In conference play, the Owls finished 2016 with a record of 2-3-2, falling to the American Athletic Conference regular-season champions, USF.

The Owls are graduating six seniors, including starter Jorge Gomez-Sanchez who ended his career as an Owl tied for fifth all-time in career goals (27) and fifth alone in single-season goals (14). After earning first team All-Conference honors and ranking No. 9 in all-time highest career points (62), Sanchez stands as the first Owl to be selected in the MLS SuperDraft. He will join the Vancouver Whitecaps for the 2017 season.
