Temple Hosts Tulsa for Noon School Day Clash on Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team hosts conference-foe Tulsa on Wednesday at noon at the Liacouras Center for the Owls' annual School Day game. The American Digital Network will broadcast the match-up with the Owls welcoming over 2,000 students from local schools.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
Temple is 17-5 overall with a 7-2 mark in American Athletic Conference play. The Owls rebounded from back-to-back losses with a 76-50 win at Tulane on Sunday.
Four Temple players average in double-figures in scoring, led by senior guard Feyonda Fitzgerald's 16.6 points and 7.4 assists per contest, with the assist number ranked her eighth in the nation. Junior Alliya Butts averages 15.3 points per game with a team-best 45 steals. Junior Donnaizha Fountain averages 13.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game, while classmate Tanaya Atkinson (12.6 ppg, 8.5 rpg) has recorded two-straight double-doubles.
Senior Ruth Sherrill has started the last 15 games for the Owls and averages 5.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Junior Khadijah Berger averages 4.5 points and 2.8 boards per game, while senior Safiya Martin (2.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg) tops the team with 25 total blocks.

Rookie Shug Dickson has come on strong in the last eight games for Tulsa, bringing her season average up to 9.7 points per game. Classmate Kendrian Elliott puts up 9.2 points and a team-best 7.5 rebounds per contest. Alexis Gaulden (8.0 ppg), Ebony Parker (7.2 ppg), and Tatyana Perez (6.2 ppg) all add to the Tulsa offense.
As a team, the Golden Hurricane average 65.7 points per outing, but give up 72.1. Tulsa shoots 39.7% from the field and 33.6% from three, but is being out-rebounded by over five boards per game.
